West Enterprise Free review

For US freight brokerages

Your past loads can earn again.

We help freight brokerages earn money by licensing old load records to AI companies. You keep your company, your shippers, your carriers and your files. It starts with a free Fit and Value Review.

Today

  • Your load history sits in the TMS.
  • It costs you storage. It earns nothing.
  • You have no idea what it is worth.

After a license

  • A buyer pays a one-time fee for a cleaned copy.
  • You can put it toward hiring, tech or succession.
  • You keep the company, the customers and the originals.

Licensing means a buyer pays to use a copy of your records. You still own them.

Why it matters

You already paid for this data.

Every load you covered. Every lane you quoted. Every email with a carrier or shipper. Your team built that record over years.

Most of it never gets opened again.

AI companies want real freight records like yours. They use them to teach software how a brokerage desk actually works.

They do not buy your company. They license a cleaned copy of your records. Your originals stay put.

How it works

Three steps. The first is free.

01 / ASK

Fill out a short form

Your TMS, how many years of loads you have, and your office size. No files. No logins.

02 / REVIEW

Get your free review

In about 2 business days, we email you which buyers fit and what they need.

03 / DECIDE

Say yes or walk away

A buyer checks a sample and makes a real offer. Your lawyer reviews it. You decide.

Your free Fit and Value Review

What lands in your inbox.

01 / FIT

Which buyers fit you

Matched to your size, years of loads and TMS.

02 / RANGES

What those buyers say they pay

Their own published numbers, labeled as their claims.

03 / NEEDS

What each buyer needs

The records and sample they ask for before a real offer.

THE RULE

Real numbers come from buyers

Only a buyer can make an offer, after it checks a sample.

What deals have looked like

Public numbers. Offers vary. Not guaranteed.

These are figures others have published. They are not our results and not a promise. Your offer could be much lower, or there may be none.

Freight broker

$650K

As reported by the buyer. For a freight brokerage with about 100 employees. That buyer asks for 3+ years of records, and a post tied to it claims about 200GB of data at minimum (not verified). Most brokers we talk to are smaller than this. Not independently verified. [1]

Shut-down startups

$10K to $100K

Per company, for startups that had shut down, through a wind-down service. Not freight brokers. Press reported. [2]

Offers vary widely

$40K vs. about $400K

One seller. One buyer offered $40K for a permanent exclusive license. Another buyer said it should be worth about $400K. This is why you compare before you sign. [3]

Most buyers want about 2 years of exclusivity. That means you can usually license your records once, not to several buyers.

Illustrative example, not a client

How a review could go.

Illustrative example, not a client. A made-up brokerage, to show the steps. No real results are implied.

  1. The owner of a brokerage that has run its loads in McLeod for years fills out the form. It takes a few minutes.
  2. We look at the size of the office, how many years of load history are in the TMS, and what kinds of records exist.
  3. About 2 business days later, the owner gets an email: which buyers fit, what those buyers publish about pay, and what each needs.
  4. The owner flags shipper contracts with confidentiality terms. Those records would be left out.
  5. If the owner wants to go on, a buyer checks a cleaned sample and may make a written offer. Or it may pass.
  6. The owner's lawyer reviews any offer. Nothing is shared until the owner signs. The owner can stop at any step.

Who it fits

Brokerages with history.

  • A US freight brokerageUp and running, moving loads.
  • Years of load historyIn a TMS like McLeod, Aljex, Turvo or Tai, plus quotes and carrier emails.
  • Records you ownData your company created and has the right to license.

Always left out: payroll, health records, Social Security numbers and card data.

Risks, head-on

What can go wrong.

This is a real business decision. Here are the risks in plain words. We are not lawyers. Your lawyer should review every deal.

No offer

A buyer may pass. Offers for the same data can vary a lot. If nothing happens, it costs you nothing.

Shipper and carrier contracts

Some contracts keep rates and lanes private. We ask about them first. Those records get left out.

Privacy law

Laws like California's CCPA can apply. Data must be cleaned of personal details. Your lawyer should confirm.

Cleaning has limits

Names, phones and MC numbers are meant to be removed; the exact rules go in the contract. You can check a sample. No method removes every risk.

Exclusivity

Often about 2 years, sometimes permanent. You cannot license the same records to anyone else in that time.

Liability

You promise you own the records. Other terms come in the contract. Your lawyer negotiates them.

Software terms

Some TMS or email contracts limit exports. Your lawyer should check them.

Time

Deals can take months. Payment usually comes 30 to 60 days after acceptance, up to about 3 months with some buyers. Some buyers have a review window after delivery and can decline.

Less private than you think

Some AI companies must disclose where their data came from. A deal may not stay secret.

Questions

Straight answers.

Do we keep our company and our files?

Yes. You license a cleaned copy. You keep the company, your shippers, your carriers and your original records.

What does the review cost?

Nothing. There is no obligation. You never pay us.

Who are the buyers?

Companies that license business records for AI training. Some work for AI developers. We only match you with buyers that take freight data. We name them to you before any introduction.

Who sees our data?

Nobody, until you sign. After that, the buyer and its cleaning vendor get a copy. Nobody needs your logins.

Could shipper or customer names leak?

We will not promise they can't. Names and numbers are meant to be removed, and you can check a sample. The exact cleaning rules go in the contract. Records under a shipper NDA can be left out.

What does about 2 years of exclusivity mean?

For that time, you cannot license the same records to anyone else. It should not affect how you run loads. Ask that it cover only the records you deliver.

What data is left out?

Payroll, health records, Social Security numbers, card and bank data, minors' data, legal files and customs records. Records your contracts restrict can be left out too.

Is this legal?

It can be, for records you own that are properly cleaned. Privacy laws can apply. We do not give legal advice. Ask your lawyer.

What are we liable for?

You promise you own the records and can license them. Other liability terms come with the contract. Your lawyer should negotiate them.

What if a buyer misuses the data?

Your rights are what the signed contract says. Ask your lawyer to add deletion duties, an audit right and a clear penalty for breach.

Are we sure to get an offer?

No. A buyer may pass or offer less than you hoped. That is why you compare.

When would we get paid?

Payment usually comes 30 to 60 days after acceptance, up to about 3 months with some buyers. The schedule is in the written offer.

How does West Enterprise get paid?

The buyer pays our referral fee when a deal closes. We disclose it in writing to both sides.

Should our lawyer review this?

Yes. Every deal. Have them check shipper and carrier contracts, TMS terms, privacy law, exclusivity and liability.
